Headwaters RC&D works to build a stronger, stable and diversified local economy.  We are currently looking for a Development Coordinator to execute the plans and programs of business retention/expansion and recruitment for projects, and assist in creating or retaining key employment within Beaverhead County. This position is an integral part of the Headwaters RCD team and is an excellent chance to make an impact within the Southwestern Montana business community.

Job Description

 

BACKGROUND:  Headwaters RC&D Area, Inc. is a not for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. The organization receives funding from federal, state, and local governments, private organizations, and foundations. It administers multiple grant programs and loan programs for businesses.

 

POSITION: Development Coordinator, Part Time, Beaverhead Development Corporation

 

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS:  This position requires the person to promote economic development throughout Beaverhead County by marketing Beaverhead County, hosting and recruiting businesses, hosting meet-ups and events, attracting regional conferences, assisting with grant applications and other duties as assigned.  This position is directed by the Headwaters Executive Director.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

 

  • Be a visible face of Economic Development and Headwaters in Beaverhead County.

 

  • Provide technical advice to business owners and prospective developers.

 

  • Develop and distribute marketing materials for Beaverhead County Development Corp.

 

  • Assist with grant writing and funding applications.

 

  • Actively recruit new businesses to Dillon by developing regional marketing materials.

 

  • Recruit regional and statewide conferences to Beaverhead County.

 

  • Host “Meet Ups” and organize business groups such as Young Professionals.

 

  • Contribute to Headwaters Marketing materials such as newsletters and social media as a source for Beaverhead County specific material.

 

  • Maintain confidentiality in Headwaters matters both inside and outside of the office.

  

  • Other work as may be necessary to meet federal, state, and grant reporting requirements and ensure the smooth operation of the office.

 

  • Assist Staff with the production and distribution of the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy document.

 

  • Provide general assistance for grants, training programs, and other assistance as needed.

 

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Beaverhead County Regional Economic Development Coordinator Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Attend local City and County meetings, report on economic development activities in the region.

 

  • Conduct Beaverhead County Economic Baseline Survey.

 

  • Attend Headwaters Staff Meetings, primarily via conference call.

 

  • Work with Headwaters Staff to secure funding for Beaverhead County projects.

 

  • Maintain strong relationships with local businesses in Beaverhead County.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: College Degree.  Preference for degree in land use

planning, business, finance, journalism or other business/marketing related field of study.

Experience in planning, finance, grant writing/administration or economic development preferred.

 

SALARY:  $15-$18/Hour, DOE
