FOOD & AGRICULTURE

DEVELOPMENT CENTER

As a Food and Agricultural Development Center, Headwaters is part of a network of centers that provides assistance in food and value-added agricultural product development and marketing. We also work with producers to cultivate farm-based energy development and energy-efficient practices, including hazard fuel reduction, in order to optimize the use of our natural resources.

BUSINESS LOANS & GRANTS

Headwaters stimulates economic development by filling funding gaps in the private sector. We provide an alternative for entrepreneurs and business owners who do not qualify for or cannot access traditional commercial bank funds.

HOMEBUYER EDUCATION

The first step towards creating successful homeowners is education. Our classes cover all aspects of the home buying process, including budgeting and credit, the mortgage process, down payment and closing cost assistance, homeowners and life insurance, home maintenance, and protecting equity.

MEAT & POULTRY LENDING PROGRAM

MPILP provides funding for the start-up, expansion, or operation of slaughter, or other processing of meat and poultry. The objective of the MPILP is to strengthen the financing capacity for independent meat processors and to create a more resilient, diverse, and secure U.S. food supply chain.

SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER

As a Small Business Development Center with a statewide network of partners, Headwaters SBDC assists both, start-up and established businesses throughout the region. We help analyze financial statements, provide credit analysis, assist in setting up financial plans, and provide guidance toward banks and alternative financing.

BROWNFIELDS

Headwaters RC&D has received funding from the Environmental Protection Agency to conduct Phase I and II Brownfields assessments in the seven-county region and will be soliciting eligible projects beginning immediately.

MONTANA PTAC

Montana PTAC is dedicated to showing your company how to find, bid and win government contracts. Our team of specialists help make the contracting process clearer and easier so you can concentrate on pursuing opportunities.
