About the Event
Headwaters and the BLDC are excited to offer training for lenders and realtors in the 7 county
region on how to utilize Headwaters Brownfields grant program. This exciting program can be
utilized to cover the costs of phase I and II environmental assessments for properties that
have been impacted by petroleum and hazardous materials including but not limited to
asbestos, lead paint and methamphetamines. The program can provide potential purchasers
detailed information about the cost to clean up impacted properties and a path towards
remediation. This is a program that has already had success in the region with assessments
completed or near completion in almost every single Headwaters county.
The Headwaters Brownfields program is particularly beneficial to lenders and realtors as it
provides a valuable tool for covering the costs of assessing properties that may otherwise not
be able to move because of real or perceived contamination. The assessments are not from
the regulatory side of DEQ or EPA and there is no obligation to remediate properties after
assessment has been complete. Please join us to learn how our organizations can help you
close deals that may otherwise be difficult or impossible and spur economic growth in all of our
communities.
